About John Fukala

In case you're wondering about the name "Fukala", it is of Czechoslovakian origin and is pronounced "few-ka-la" or "foo-ka-la" if you wish.

I live on beautiful Cape Breton Island which is in Nova Scotia, Canada. I am blessed with a beautiful wife and three grown up sons. I am also a proud, brand new grandfather.

About The Music

I grew up in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia in a home with plenty of music. My father , John , loved to play the accordian and when not playing he would be whistling his favorite songs. My Mom, Mary, loved to sing as she went through her daily routine of being Mom to the family. My family consisted of my four older sisters ( Johanna, Paula, Johnina and Corrine) and me the youngest and only boy. I believe my parents' love of music was a great gift they passed on to me.

Over the years I have performed in various capacities - in dance bands, bar bands, and also some solo work on stage, and in lounges. I have also played in church choirs over the years.

In 2004 when I decided to record my first CD, it was only natural that I ask the "Men of Faith" (my brothers in Christ), to join me. I went just a bit farther, however, and I ended up including dozens of "men of faith" in the project. The CD is entitled "Men of Faith...It's All About Love." The recording consists of twelve "Gospel" tunes that I had written, through the grace of God. The songs are all preceded with an appropriate scripture reading by a "man of faith."

My intent with this first project (besides sharing the message of  scripture in relationship with the songs) is to show the world that, yes, there are real men of faith out there, and because of that the world is in good hands.

In November of 2007 I released my first solo project .I am currently promoting my second CD entitled "Just One Man."
